Rug doctor does work very well indeed, I got 1/2 gal of wet latex paint out of my carpet & U can't tell where it was spilled. If UR looking for a "dryer" clean call "ChemDry". I have been told the chemical process is good for: really dirty, greasy dirt, high traffic, badly stained, & animal stains/oders. Regular cleaning of those requires lots of water that can damage underlayment, takes lots of time U pay extra for & takes a long time to dry. They cleaned my parents grease stained carpet & they were happy w/it. IDK abt using them if have chemical sensitivity?
