Does anybody have any recommendations for windshield repair/replacement? Preferably one who can come to my house and hopefully tomorrow. Got nailed by a rock on I25...

Check with Nick Ehrhart he owns a Windshield company and lives here in Erie
Laurie S. replied:
per the recommendations here, I used Nick Ehrhart today. His installer had 19 years of experience.... beat the dealer price by $120.... and did an awesome job. He was friendly and professional.

Like many Colorado drivers, I'm due for my annual windshield replacement. Any recommendations for good auto glass shops in the area?
Shdwdrgn replied:
I'd be curious if anyone uses *good* glass? My old car was 20 years old when I decided to replace the windshield, having spent nearly all of that time being driven around the Longmont area. Five years later the new glass was in worse shape than the original glass had been in, and I've heard similar stories from a lot of other people.
I've also noticed that "Original OEM quality" replacement parts are generally shit. Had to buy a new hood for my SUV recently because I couldn't find any available at the local junk yards. Supposed to be OEM and just as good as the original... the thing is so flimsy that I put a dent in it just from leaning on it during installation. I can't imagine what I would have gotten if I hadn't found a fender available in a yard. I have come to completely distrust anything that claims to be OEM quality, they're all liars.

[Precision Auto Glass](https://precisionautoglass.biz/) is my go-to. They will come to you.

I work for Subaru we use precision because of the benefits of OEM glass also the glass insurance uses to replace is usually not that great

I usually just punch out the windshield of any new vehicle I acquire. Save a ton by not having to replace the front glass every season. Bit nippy in the winter though.

I’m just moving to Colorado to start grad school, is there a rule you have to replace your windshield yearly??? Or is it there are just a lot of rocks that get kicked up so cracked windshields are just a more common occurrence?

Precision Auto Glass, come to your house, easy as can be and total pros!

I've used Safelite a few times. Only got a trainee once and they fixed the job.

I’m a big fan of Nova glass, but the closest one to you might be in berthoud.

I've been procrastinating this for approximately 1.5 years after a chunk of wood flipped up off the highway and hit my windshield. Does car insurance cover this at all?
