Rural usually refers to outside of Athens-Clarke county. I imagine you'd want to find the Realtor most well informed regarding each specific county. For instance, in Oglethorpe county I'm betting that would be John Byram.

Figure out which direction you are going (Statham, Jefferson, Oglethorpe, Oconee, etc) first and then find a realtor in that area.

Just used Phil Hammond at ReMax to buy a house in a subdivision in Oconee county. He's great. Kirby Kilgore was the seller's agent and he was great too.

Neil Azevedo was my realtor, and was awesome. He was incredibly nice, and explained things to me as we looked at houses (different kinds of paneling on the outside, and what that could lead to in the future, for example). He also did a ton to help my mom before she passed away (got her a motorized scooter for free, and helped her fix things around the house). I don't plan to move any time soon, but there's no way I'll go with anyone else.
