In Windows Live Mail it is possible to cut and paste a list of email addresses from a document and swiftly add them to a mailing list. Outlook.com seems to lack that...
Simon G. replied:
If you're doing list-building for marketing, something like mailchimp.com would probably do the job well for you (and do capture as well).
Justin M. replied:
I think this might be what you're looking for... http://www.csus.edu/saclink/email/importaddresses.stm (i.e.: just paste your list of e-mails into an Excel spreadsheet, save as CSV, and import into a Outlook as a new contacts group).
RPG C. replied:
That looks like the software Outlook, Justin. I'm talking about Outlook.com the webmail service which will replace Hotmail. Thanks anyway! : )
Justin M. replied:
@RPG Creatures: Should still be able to... just Import from file, and use the CSV in Outlook.comhttp://winsupersite.com/windows-live/outlookcom-tip-connect-and-import-contacts
RPG C. replied:
Yes, I can probably import my lists/contacts from Windows Live, but not from an Excel document, as far as I can tell.
Nathan S. replied:
I second the Mailchimp option. I currently use it for worldbuildingschool.com if you want your own solution you'll need a good server, an SMTP and Interspire is a good GUI to manage your lists but about £400 a license. Not sure on SMTP software but that's the expensive bit your paying for with ESP's
Home security recommendations A little backstory... A friend just bought a new place in DeKalb over by St. Pius. The neighbor across the street called my friend at work...

Sorry that happened to your friend. Unfortunately I don't have a good recommendation to give you but I can warn you of one not to use. I would not recommend ADT. They used bait and switch tactics when quoting me a system. The sales agent quoted a seemingly great price. When the tech came to install they suddenly couldn't install the system as quoted because the equipment was all wrong or not in stock. The new quote was several hundred more and with less equipment. I complained to ADT thinking it was a bad sales or tech guy but corporate did not even do as much as respond. So I would recommend going with a company that you can at least trust to secure your home.

This is unfortunate to hear; I live in that area. Do you have a make/model/color of the car, so we can keep an eye out?

Kick proof doors. Secure low windows next. But it really seems like a majority of break-ins are just door kick-ins. If you've see a door that Has been kicked (a quieter method uses a crow bar) it's pretty easy to do. The door frame just splinters. Dogs can be herded into a room, or simply let out. Most people do not keep attack dogs in their house. They have nice dogs. Guns, but you have to be at the house. And for the love of fuck, hide and secure the gun very well when it is not on you. A lot of break-ins down here in EAV, the kids are not even really stealing anything, just tearing the house up looking for spare car keys and guns.

I got a Piper NV and I love it. You customize the alerts but I have it set for when I'm not home and there is motion, it alerts me and films for a little under a minute. You can also set it so that a piercing alarm goes off but I didn't do that yet. So far it's been very responsive and easy to set up. And for $250 I feel confident that anyone I give access can keep tabs

Friend went with FrontPoint Security. Cameras will be installed too. Thanks for your input, folks. I really appreciate it. I'll update once my friend gets through to Chamblee police. We're hoping it was just a home buyer seeing the house as still being listed on the market, or perhaps someone from home insurance agency coming by. Either way, it looked really shady just snooping around. Better safe than sorry.

Check kudzu for a local alarm company and then I guess buy a gun in case someone breaks in so it can shoot them by itself while you're away
