June D. replied:
Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia....We saw Dr. Schwartzman, but he has retired, waiting till January to meet his replacement. Dr S was very helpful.
Mary C. replied:
Dr. Kenneth Rogers@Virtua in Voorhees, NJ - he worked with Dr. Schwartzman when they were both at Jefferson.
Christina C. replied:
Take the trip to Philadelphia at Drexel & see Dr. Swartzman. He's the only doctor I have ever seen that knew everything about the disease. He has published lots of studies on RSD & has experimental treatments that are successful. I drove from CT to see him-WORTH the trip!
Donna J. replied:
Dr Philip Getson is the RSD doc to go to. He's located in Marlton. I just Love him and his staff. Well worth the trip from AC
Donna J. replied:
I heard Dr.Schwartzman in Philadelphia area is retiring but i'm sure he'll have a new doc in place and just as competent.. Pain management docs with RSD knowledge and the willingness to work with us are hard to find. Dr. Getson-Marlton and Dr.schwartzman/ staff- Philadelphia
Christina C. replied:
That's sad to hear about Dr. Swartzman retiring... He was the one doctor that made me realize I wasn't crazy & even symptoms I was experiencing beyond pain, was part of the RSD. So many doctors discount your symptoms or give up after their recommended treatments haven't worked.
Sanna G. replied:
I traveled from Canada to Philadelphia to see Dr Enrique Aradillas, who I think is the one replacing Dr Swartzman. Dr Aradillas is incredibly nice and understanding, and so far everything he's done/suggested has improved my life. He diagnosed me on the first visit, and now a whole world of treatment, services and legal recourse has opened to me. Definitely worth the trip.

I am in NJ I go to U of Pa Pain MC,all docs there are fine, I saw a Dr Farrar there years ago (neurologist), best doctor ever, try either place,I have had RSD 20+ years.let me know if you need numbers.Dr Getson in have heard wonders about,Dr Young Lee offered to treat me years ago, when I decided to go to Penn.
Marcie B. replied:
Dr Cooney is in Nj he does calmare
Jennifer G. replied:
Thank you very much for all your responses. I was dx by Dr. Getson a wonderful man ... I'm not sure if he's going to be treating me . I don't believe he is taking anymore patients and I do not have health insurance. I just applied for social security disability and understand I will be denied so with his recommendation will contact a lawyer. I do not know how long the process will take. I am looking for some relief in the meantime because I am becoming unable to care for my son. Even pain management. A dr who is familiar with RSD and who will not laugh at me would be a start. Thank you so much. I find comfort in knowing I'm not alone and people care!
Laurie C. replied:
Dr Young Lee has an office in Hammonton NJ. Has worked wonders for me. About 25 mins from AC.

If anyone knows of a great doctor on Staten Island, who accepts Medicare, I would greatly appreciate a heads up.
