Start Communications, thats whom Ive got and had for years now. They run off Rogers backbone for the faster speeds but are much more affordable.
SpreadTheGlutes replied:
Had the same problem my man. Rogers is ridiculous.

Fido has a deal of 50% off for a year. I pay $37 a month for 150Mbpa service.
Miguelomaniac replied:
On Fido 37.50 for 150 mb + 150 gift card. This was a promotion around black Friday.

We have Primus (through Costco) and I've been happy with it.

If you’re determined to leave, that’s cool. But I called and threatened to cancel (and actually did for a short while) and they wanted to keep me so I’m getting $65 for unlimited 300 mbps and minimum TV.
LastAncient replied:
Carrytel or TekSavvy, carry being the less expensive option. I use carrytel myself, for internet and iptv.

I never had any problems with Rogers. I have gigabit internet for 80 bucks.
FrequentSheepherder3 replied:
I'm with coextro. $55 + tax for 150 mb, unlimited bandwidth. They run on Rogers lines. The only thing with most of these third party sellers is you need to be prepared to invest in your modem up front.
Ginger451 replied:
Another vote for Execulink! Great support, great service, stable prices.

I use Cannet. $45 per month for 300 mbs. Ask for a promotional price.

I’m on virgin internet $50 for 50 mb/s unlimited. It’s not the fastest on the market but it works for us. Got our phones and net all wrapped into the same bill. Easy peasy

TekSavvy is the only company I've ever seen in Canada that actually lowers their prices when they can
Bailzzz000 replied:
I personally had a bad experience with Teksavvy (internet not working several days every couple months) ended up cancelling and have had no issues with Virgin so far - highly recommend!
someritu replied:
I found this dude on reddit - 4169538749. He hooked me up with Bell no complaints yet. You might try him.
chrystally replied:
Not sure why everyone is recommending Teksaavy. I used to be a customer of theirs, switched to Rogers for a sweet deal I was offered. Recently (as in the last 3 months) to switch from Rogers and Teksaavy is just about the same price as Rogers. They aren’t exactly the “cheaper” option anymore. Yes, I never had issues with their service but for me to switch back there is zero incentive in terms of cost.

Teksavvy, hands down! I dropped rogers about a decade ago, never looked back!!! I got fed up with them throttling my service.

I just switched my cell phone and internet to Fido. I have the 150MB and it's $45 a month. My cell phone is unlimited Canada wide calling and 4MB and it's also $45 a month. I also got a $150 prepaid MC I was paying about $120 and $130 from Rogers for Internet and Cell phone

https://www.fido.ca/promotions/internet/offers I've had Fido for about 3 years. The offers expire after a year, but you can always negotiate something new when your promotion is up.
Zodiac33 replied:
Providers will have their new sign-up plans refreshed for January and you can likely get a better deal playing them off one another, at least for a 12-16 month promotion. Last time, we ended up getting a substantially lower bundle of internet and streaming TV from Bell that was able half what we were paying Rogers. Just takes some back and forth on the phone to find their lowest (to say nothing of adding another provider into the mix there).

I fucking hate Rogers and bell.

Fido is the same network as Rogers just cheaper
tcata replied:
Rogers will usually be able to pull out a cheaper base rate if you're about to leave them. But they make up for it with all the extra fees that increase all the time. Resellers like TekSavvy or Start are generally more expensive (unless you're fine with slower speeds; depends on your needs) but I'm with Start and have never had any sticker shock with my bill after 5+ years. It's always the base rate + taxes. If you go with a reseller, you can see if you can get a used modem on Kijiji for cheaper, rather than renting it, for a longer term savings. Resellers ISPs usually list the models they support on their websites.

I like virgin. I have the 100 mb over fiber. It’s great
Abracadabra0007 replied:
I only pay $52 a month for unlimited high speed with Virgin! Never had a problem either and I’ve been with them for a few years now. My son is a gamer as well and has no issues :)

I've been in Kitchener for about a month but I've been on EBOX because they're gigabit package was cheaper than Rogers or TekSavvy.

I've been with Bell, Rogers, Tek-Savvy over the past 10 years. They all had consistent outages or throttling. I switched to Execulink (they run on Rogers lines) and I've only had 3 outages in the past 8 months, all at 2-6 am, and it was cause Rogers was doing updates or some shit. The connection has never been throttled even during peak hours. Their tech support is also very friendly.
ErnDizzy replied:
Teksavvy was the best internet provider I've ever had. I'd use them in a heartbeat nifbthey were available here.
queentwat replied:
Teksavvy, its already been mentioned but i highly recommend them. Ive been with them for7 yrs..its easy to have it setup, no hassles, excellent customer service.
sorvance replied:
Call em up and tell them you need to cancel due to budget constraints, see if they can get you a promo deal. I've had good luck with V-Media when I lived in Brampton for internet, Teksavvy is a popular choice.
Minimum_Fix replied:
I used Acanac.com for years when I lived in Kitchener, DSL and cable when it came available. I think in 10 years there was maybe 1 outage and the speed was great.
