Welcome Sym Sym. The one you can swim laps in is in the Spa that's why it's extra and is adults only. There is the Taverna by the sea which you have one free visit per week of your stay. There is also the El Sultan restaurant which you were getting a discount 25% last year. The hotel is about a 7-10 euro taxi ride away from Maspalomas which is one of the bigger main resorts and has way better beaches. The beach is rocky but there is enough area to sunbathe although beds are extra as it is not owned by the hotel all beaches are public. You can do windsurfing though at the small beach area. There is loads to do including a water park,outdoor cinema,jungle park etc all not too far away from the hotel. We are on our third visit this year and we did the whale and dolphin boat trip on our first year and it was fab. There is 3 pools in the Orquidea 2 bigger ones and a kids splash pool with a wee slides. One at the hotel next door which you can use also.
