I’m sorry; that’s scary. So you know, if he became a patient of VNA healthcare (an FQHC clinic in aurora, Elgin, etc) he could get his meds at a significant discount, probably more than 50% off. And they see patients on a sliding fee scale and offer same day appts. Their aurora location has the pharmacy onsite. They complete Medicaid applications too...

Hi Liz, full disclosure, I didn't read all these comments. I saw an argument about liberals being the worst and scrolled on only leaving one reply in a side thread about OTC options (yes, they're at walmart for sure, they're $25 no insurance required and called Novolin, there's two types for bolusing and basal). Here is a link about diabetes grants, and more disclosure - I've saved this for years but have been fortunate enough to not need it, so I'm not sure what all it says but it can't hurt to try all options. My daughter is type 1 and I'm really sorry you're both going through this. http://www.uhccf.org/apply/

Talk with Hazen insurance agency on main st. - I left State Farm also. Now with Travelers. Great people there. Very helpful. They will shop around for you. I brought my policy, they matched it, had several that were more and some less. They took the time to listen to me and didn't push one company over another. Eli and Jennifer are great!

I used The Security Makers out of Elburn. http://www.thesecuritymakers.com They can price out for a variety of companies to get a good deal. When I'm up for renewal, they check out to make sure my rate is still competitive. They were able to do it all over the phone.

I had an accident similar to your circumstances, Debbie. My car was not repairable and I did not need an attorney. My insurance company went after the other guy's insurance company and made them pay for my car and deductible. It took a year for my insurance company to get payment and I went to court twice. However, I got a new car from my insurance company within a month of the accident. Boyce Body Works was outstanding and worked with my insurance company on the decision to have my car totaled.

Look at Royal Coach in St. Charles is AMAZING!! When I said we were going there, the car rental place, insurance agent, etc all reiterated that they were the best in the area. Make sure it's the one in St. Charles.
