Here is a copy of paste of what to do when visitors arrive. When visitors arrive keep him behind a stair gate in the kitchen or whatever the layout of your house will allow so that he can see but not be approached by people,. It is important that vis itors are briefed not to look at or talk to the dog. Then you can start to associate people coming with good things, so bits of sausage could rain from the sky over the gate every time a person walks past. I would expect the excitement to lessen in anticipation of wanting to eat sausage from the floor. If it doesn't and if he doesn't eat then he is too stressed and you need to find a way to get him further away from the visitors to start working with him. Here is a copy and paste of Sally’s four on the floor techinque to help with the jumping up. Make sure that you reward him for having his front feet on the ground. This is something that could be done at mealtimes with his dinner or with a pot of about 30 – 50 tiny yummy treats. With your hand at his eye level deliver treats in quick succession whilst his front feet remain planted and then gradually deliver them from higher up so that he can try jumping and not get a treat and keep four on the floor and get one. He’ll learn really quickly which action gets the pay off, then you recruite some friends to do the same technique And here is kikopups video on jumping up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC_OKgQFgzw The following two links are for teaching the dog the behaviour that you want, rather than allowing him to practice the behaviour you don’t want. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wv1 uvvqaSwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZCIeEUm_n8 and here is an article which will explain the reasons for jumping up http://kaylaurence.wordpress.com/.../approval-seeking-or.../ Admin,

Celia Bourne is great at Canine relate dog training. She also has access to a really large field for training purposes.
