Scout my rat terrier may need some teeth pulled
Does anyone have a good vet who does dental and is not $hungry?
Stacey B. replied:
Heidi Walker-what is the name of the vet out east where I had Kasha's dental and extractions done? The vet was wonderful and cost extremely reasonable.
Kathleen M. replied:
I would refer Dr. Joel Crespo of Sayville Animal hosptail.

Island Rescue Bay Shore, they also have special rates for rescuers who Spay, Neuter, Vaccitnate, Release ferrels. Then, there is my all time favorite Dr. Fischer on Islip Avenue in Islip, I had a dog that he told me we can do, this, this and this, but I don't recommend it because you won't get the results you are looking for referring to my dog who had only a few months to live; he could have milked me but did not. I can give other examples with my other animals where he did not take extra Xrays and blood tests once he had a diagnosis. He was able to help me keep the animals comfortable and able to enjoy their final weeks/months. He has associates there who are excellent doctors but were not as considerate of my pocket book..

North Shore Animal League's Animal Medical Center in Port Washington does dental work. All of their medical fees, including dental, are far lower then the Island's regular vet fees. They have certain days of the month when they do the dental work that aren't emergencies. And, there is about 2-3 week wait. You will need the blood work done also before they do the dental work.

Deer Park Animal Hospital is excellent. Stay away from "low cost" vet clinics...you'll end up paying more in the end.
