Our annual surf city vacation is approaching. 2questions...
1. Best Bakery in the area??
2. Is there a good location (bay side) where I can take my two year old...
Daniel N. replied:
No fishing licenses required in NJ for salt water, just free registration (link below). Good place to fish is the public access area at the end of West (not North) 5 th Street, as well as beside the lighthouse at Barnegat Light. http://www.nj.gov/dep/saltwaterregistry/index.html

Almost forgot! Under the bridge closest to the island there is a walking path where lots of people fish. Would probably be a blast for a kid to experience the novelty of it. Access the path across the street from Hochstrassers Marina on W. 8 th St. at the bay. Suggestion would be to use a "popper" lure for bluefish or a small minnow on a bucktail rig to catch something random swimming by. Surf City Bait & Tackle at the Blvd. and N 4 th will hook you up.
