Holly R. replied:
Secondary POTS is usually caused by an underlying condition, yes. But there are people who have POTS not caused by anything they can find. When it is caused by something else, it's often a mystery as to why. POTS has only been a recognized diagnoses for a decade or so. Many doctors haven't even heard of it. They're still trying to figure it out. But I agree -- it's frustrating.

I have the same problem, I live in AR and the closet Mayo clinic to me is in Cleveland Ohio. The wanted 5,000 dollars up front and the keep me for 5 days. Needless to say that wasn't an option. My heart Dr advised me a heart oblation, then a defibrillator, then changed it to Gatorade and exercise, Exercise is extremely difficult for me. I bought a heart monitor that goes on my wrist and was writing down my heart elevation, walking up a slight incline got my heartbeats up to 157! When the did a stress test they reached 198 and I blacked out, There isn't much known about it. Some sites have been helpful for me, Coffee I know that sounds odd but it seems to help and salt tablets! I've tried four different types of medications and even compression stalkings, they weren't much help:( I wish you the best!!! And I hope you can find something that helps <3 whit
