The wood around the garage door and the siding should be a very simple fix that won't cost you more than $15 if you are inclined to do it yourself. Carefully pry off that piece of wood around the garage and measure the height needed for a replacement piece. Take the scrap you pulled off to Home Depot and they will find you the same piece of wood and even cut it to length for you. Nail it, caulk the seam, paint it and you're done. To do the siding you can get a $6 siding zip unlocking tool. Assuming you have a ladder, once you're up there you simply hook that tool into the channel under the siding pull down and push it back in to re-lock it in.
