Yeah its expensive so use NHS , big push for talking therapy so should be obtainable. I would also suggest that its a big thing for her to commit and open up about it which may suggest its bigger than shes letting on. Fair play to you for trying to help and be supportive. Supposed bipolar sufferer here and I couldn't praise the help and support I have received from community psychiatric nurses any higher. They have literally saved my life and helped maintain my role in my sons life. On the other hand the shrinks are just drug pushers and not the answer, talking and exercise along with diet are the key. Also alcohol should be avoided as it's the biggest depressant going. Generally even if you go private you have to get a referral from GP first so might as well do that. Also worth noting that private health care isn't guaranteed to be good. My family paid £700 for some clown on Lisburn rd to tell my da he should take care of his affairs as he was terminally ill. This was 3 years ago and the NHS later confirmed the cancer didn't metastasise and yer man was full of shit. Best of luck to you and your wife, depression is a horrible thing.

She can go talk to her GP and get reffered to the Woodstock lodge for an appointment, its on the NHS but you still need a refferal!
