I advice you to read Noam Chomsky. For me he's the only writer worth reading when it concerns politics and history http://www.chomsky.info/interviews/20060425.htm
Ciprian D. replied:
Khalil Nabhan, for historic research you need historians, not philosophers.:)

A book by Zala Volcic, Serbian Space of Identity, might be usefull for your work. Also Humanitarian Law Center archive and Documentation Center about Yugoslav wars in 1990's could have some documents for your research. Feel free to email me if you need more information, I have done some similar reseach myself for my thesis.

You might try this home delivery site. The link is for the homepage in English. Select the part of town you are in under "Specify Location" and then you can search by restaurants delivering in your area or by specific type of food (burgers, vegetarian). You don''t have to use this for delivery only, but simply to find what you want and get the address. Then you can Google the place and see whether it has its own site. http://www.donesi.com/beograd/en/city_intro.php
Two questions: where can I find a bookstore with an extensive selection of books written in English?
And are they really closing down Vapiano in Knez Mihailova? :/
John W. replied:
The English Book in Kralja Petra St. closed down some time ago. The a/m Delfi and, to a lesser extent, Akademija in Kneza Mihaila are OK, but, overall, the situation is indeed dire!
Milena I. replied:
The English Book, Staro Sajmiste, check their website, they closed the store in Kralja Petra
Robert C. replied:
Definitely The English Book, as has been mentioned. Another good one is Delfi on Kralja Milana 48.

You may visit Institute of Modern Yugoslav History. Its researches cope with this topic which is still taboo in Serbia. I striongly recommend purchasing books of historian Dr Bojan Dimitrijevic and Mile Bjelajac. They deal with early years of Tito's dictatorship and his close connections with both NATO and USSR. You may buy their books in bookstore Odbrana run by Serbian MoD and at Inst. for Yugoslav Modern History. I am militaria collector and can offer some mlitary Gazrette editions from 1948. Should you have any further questions, you may send me an e-mail. I am willing to help because history is my hobby.
I am looking to buy some university textbooks in Serbian (for filološki fakultet). Does anyone know a good university bookstore?
