Just got me a Optoma W305ST for £575 from Projector Shop 24. The ST stands for short throw and that it does, 100 inches from about a meter away. Very bright and good contrast ratio too.

Short throw & long throw play one of the biggest parts in having a great looking projector. It's the distances from screen to projector x by the screen size. A pub generally have a lot of ambient light so a projector with more then 3 k / 3.5 k lum re commended, can easily get a nice projector for that price range.
