Also, my service dog needs a veterinarian- recommendations for someone in the Berea-Kingston area?
Alyssa S. replied:
We also use Advanced Animal Care, though we use their Richmond location. We used to use Silver Creek Animal Hospital, since it was so close & we liked it well enough, but after a late-night emergency w/one of my cats that AAC handled so wonderfully, we opted to move all of our treatment there.

I also use Silver Creek Animal Hospital. They are great there too
Jessa T. replied:
We take all our babies to By-Pass Animal Clinic. It's a little farther than Berea-Kingston, but with 7 furry friends, they give us a really good deal for multiple pets!

Dr. Long at Berea Animal Hospital
Erin K. replied:
Berea Animal Hospital- Dr Keith Long. He is the greatest vet I've ever dealt with. I highly recommend him and his prices are way cheaper than Advanced Animal Care
James C. replied:
Oh no! I was at Advanced Animal Care yesterday and was told Dr. Byron Dozier is going to 1 1/2 work days per week (the word "retirement" was used) and he will only be operating out of the Waco AAC clinic. I've been to this clinic before when he was there and it's not a bad drive but it's definitely not as convenient as the Berea clinic. Even with the little longer drive I will still take my four legged family members there as long as Dozier is taking appointments. [My mother's dog, Ben, who is a terror in a car and cannot go for longer drives safely, will be seeing Dr. Simmons at the Berea clinic. Simmons operated on Ben's ripped up leg and did a good job.]
Shirley C. replied:
Hey Jamie! It was great seeing you at the concert. Glad to hear all your four-legged friends are doing well. I love Dr Dozier, too.
Craig T. replied:
I would recommend Dr. James Chism in Mt. Vernon

Dr Skipworth in Richmond (about 10 minutes from where I live in Kingston) is amazing. He has the best staff in the world too. His clinic is called Skipworth Veterinary Clinic.
I am looking for a good veterinarian that can spay/neuter at a good price, and maybe check for ear mites. Any suggestions?
Andrea W. replied:
The Humane Society does free or sliding scale spaying or neutering, depending on income. Good luck!

Martina L. replied:
honestly, he will tell you if there is anything that can be done, or if it is a problem which is dramatically reducing quality of life. For Dr Chism, he recognizes that many of the same principles of medicine for humans can be applied to animals, in terms of utilizing medical technologies and advanced procedures...but he does take an approach that just because we CAN give dialysis to a dog, doesn't mean that we should.
Alyssa S. replied:
Dr. Long at Berea Animal Hospital. He's absolutely the most caring vet & his prices seem to be half what I was paying at another well-known clinic.
Nikki L. replied:
Dr. Long at Berea Animal Hospital. He's awesome.
Tracey T. replied:
W&W Veterinary Services. Drs. Nick Werle and Kate Onasch are new to the area and in Richmond, but I would highly recommend them. I have a dog (a rescue) with extreme anxiety and a major case of stranger danger, and I found them to be more compassionate than the other four vets we've tried in the area. My bill was half the price for his annual checkup and vaccines.
