Once you find an artist, you can go and then they can stencil it on and you can get a better idea of how it'll look. They can also just give you advice on how it'll translate into a tattoo. I don't have suggestions on artists though, sorry.

Living Out Loud does some pretty good work. Lindenwold NJ. My buddy Evan does apprenticeship work there, he'd probably be pretty good for the job. Or if you don't want an apprentice to do work on you, they are all pretty good artists.

If you can make the trip to North Jersey, I love [Matt Lukesh](http://www.facebook.com/matthewlukesh?fref=ts) in Bloomingdale, NJ. He works at [Seppuku Tattoo](http://www.seppukutattoo.com). He's doing a phoenix/bird of paradise piece for me now and he is very thorough and has been featured on the cover of Skin and Ink Magazine and has been featured in Bizzare Magazine's The World's Most Incredible Tattoos. His pricing is about $150/hr, which is very good for his experience, and he will give you prices based on how many sittings you want/can do.
