Recommendations for an experienced and honest dentist in the Cincinnati area? I had an unfortunate couple of visits with Bell Dental Group last year, so now I’m in the...

Mt. Lookout Dentistry in Mt. Lookout square. My wife is a dentist and she recommended them to me - my wife’s office is an hour out of the city otherwise I’d go to her / recommend her myself ;).
Anyway, my wife met them through her residency program at UC. Dr. Croop, Dr. Bertsch, and Dr. Bertsch (husband and wife) were some of her attendings, and Dr. Gosnell is a graduate of the program as well. I’ve been seen by and/or met all of them and I have nothing but positive things to say, but I also haven’t had extensive dentistry work and recognize that I might be getting preferential treatment since they know my wife personally. Still, the original reco is coming from a fellow dentist so you might find that useful.
Good luck!

Jane R Mays DMD in Hyde Park has won one of Cincinnati Magazine's top dentists for several years. She is my mother, dentist to many of my friends and people I know, and a fantastic dentist for certain. I could not speak highly enough of her. Please give her a try. My personal suggestion is twin dental out of I think Fairfield (127 and 275). Always been fair and honest with me. They credited the fee of a root canal that failed back towards a dental implant on the same tooth and are pretty accommodating for anxiety issues as well. If you do go there ping me and I'll put my referral credit on your account.

I go to fountain square cosmetic dentistry downtown and have had nothing but good experiences. They really seem to care about how you feel during the process and don’t shame you either. They also seem to care about price as well. For example, I had a molar that was very infected. The doctor there told me either I could spend around $2 k for for root canal and crown or $500 to get the tooth removed. He told me that the tooth was one of the least used in the mouth, so it was up to me. When I first went there I had a ton of cavities and to help save money, they filled half before the end of the year and the other half after, so my insurance would cover the cost.

Dr. Ira Waspe DDS in Morrow. A bit more of a drive than you asked for, but he's the most honest and proficient dentist I've encountered. No big practice financial pressures, no Maserati in the parking lot, simple office, and no unnecessary upselling. He rebuilt my badly chipped front teeth years ago after an incident, did a perfect job for a fair price that has lasted longer than expected, and I've been going to him ever since. My doctor and his family are patients of his as well. We're all big fans.

Definitely avoid Rogers in Anderson. Dr. Meier in Finneytown, she's refreshingly honest, and she's working with me to best maneuver my dental insurance for an implant I need. Avoid Gase in Finneytown, he scammed my family out of $1200 when he gave an insurance estimate on a filling that wasn't actually covered by insurance because they didn't actually check.

I'll be in your boat soon enough. I've been going to the same dentist my whole life. And I'm closer to 40 than I care to admit.

Not sure where you're located or how far you're willing to drive, but I've been going to Swisher and associates for at least 20 years. Can't recommend them enough and if you need an orthodontist there's one literally 5 businesses away.

I had a similar experience with Bell Dental after being recommended to go there! The amount of work they suggested was ridiculous so I immediately went elsewhere.

Dr. Rolfes in Kenwood! My former dentist told me that I would need to have a crown to fix a cavity in one of my molars. I went to Dr. Rolfes for a second opinion, and he said he’d be able to just fill it. Sure enough, he did! I haven’t looked back.
imroot replied:
Avoid: Kemper pond dental — didn’t cement one of my bridges properly and Rogers Family Dentistry — replaced a crown, and after telling them that my bite didn’t feel right, proceeded to grind into another crowned tooth causing around $12,500 worth of implants, surgeries, and other headaches along the road. I drive 2.5 hours one way to a dentist in Eastern Kentucky and will never go to anyone else: she did 18 root canals and crowns on me in the last 10 years.

Looking for Dentist Does anyone have any recommendations for dentists in the Blue Ash/Kenwood area that take Medicare?
animelav replied:
I really like Cincinnati dental services. They have offices all over the city and if you need major work the have a 12 month no interest payment plans. It helped me get two root canals done with out having to sell my organs.

If it matters we're currently covered under Care Source.
