I've been asked on the behalf of ken lynch to put this appeal out , there is a need for snow cleaners for the elderly he has only 4 volunteers and needs more as there...
Naomi S. replied:
There will be someone manning the main telephone number for this project through out the day, and through the evening. If you are off work, please help out, call the number and they will direct you to where the snow clearing is happening (no previous experience necessary). Wrap up warm, make friends and help out :) If you, or you know someone who is elderly or sick who wants to, but can not get out due to snow, call the hotline on 01767 681739, and if there is no answer call 07733 205593
Hi, does anyone know a nice kebab shop in or near Sandy? The Town Fryer hasn't been great lately. Thank you x

David T. replied:
they certainly do excellent fish & chips at the Town Fryer I don't blame the other family members:-) Sandy Kebab can be busy, so you could order your kebab, sprint to the Fryer get the fish and chips and come back to the Kebab just in time. Then get home with both parcels still nice and hot.:-) I fancy one now !!!!
I know this as been discussed before but can anyone recommend a decent localish restaurant for lunch. Needs to be child friendly
Claire W. replied:
Hare and Hounds at Ickwell and The Crown in Henlow village both really good and we've always found good for kids food. Hare & Hounds has a garden. The Crown only a smallish outside space I think. To be fair though - neither is the cheapest around but we've never had a bad meal at either of them. Not sure if H&H have high chairs but The Crown definitely has and when we last went with kids they brought 'goody' bags for the kids. If you have a Taste card, you can get 50% off the food bill (not drinks) at The Crown.

Definitely would be so well recieved if they managed to do that with the Roberts and an instant success ..we had roast dinner at The Kings Arms Sunday, was really nice..chef is great, friendly and very accommodating especially when dealing with the children..I have a 15,4 and 2 year old and all were very happy with what they had..desserts are good too and come as a meal deal when included with a main.
Has anyone tried the Sandy cafe (near the post office) it always seems busy.
David T. replied:
I think we are lucky that our three Sandy cafés complement each other and are equally excellent in their own ways. For proper coffee and delicious snacks and pastries head for Mama's. For a first class selection of salad bowls, sandwiches, baguettes etc then Viv's opposite the Craft Shop is the place. For a friendly busy buzz and a gut busting breakfast or lunch without frills then it's the Sandy Cafe. Of course if it's after 5 pm or a Sunday you have to get out the passport and go to Biggleswade. I've seen walkers, cyclists, folks from the campsite wandering around hungry and bemused baffled by Sandy on Sunday.
Can anyone tell me the name of the new steak and grill restaurant on Biggleswade High St near HSBC please? Or anywhere else that serves a decent steak? Thanks in...
