Can anyone put me right? We are still toying with the idea of towing our car behind on longer trips away, having look into it as best I can prices seem to vary between...
Paul S. replied:
If the car has a servo, the government rules say you will probably need an auxillary pump to get the required braking effect. Caravan brakes are designed to run without a servo, so are fine. Similarly, if your towed car doesn't have a servo, it's designed to run without a servo, so will be fine. You also have to be able to reverse with the towed car attached. Some basic braking systems won't allow that to happen, so check that out as well. If you break the rules, you could well get away with it. But, you're breaking the rules, so you may get caught. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/408927/a-frames-and-dollies.pdf

http://www.tow-bars2 tow-cars.com/Public/Cart/Products/CategoryProducts.aspx?CategoryID=69 We have just had our new car setup for our motorhome and they did a fabulous job with a braking system that is so clever as it applies the same proportional braking to the car as the motorhome applys. A great product which cost just under £2000.
What are your thoughts on towing a small car behind you motorhome?
Does anybody do it? If so, pros & cons.
Thanks.
Robert L. replied:
We do. Wifes Smart Diesel with A Frame 71 mpg in Cornwall last week. Not prepared to be marooned on a site. Bought motor home as much more comfy than a caravan. Park the Smart anywhere but parking a 7.5 mtr motor home in Cornwall would be difficult to say the least.

EBike Shed in Stoke on Trent sell a range of bikes. We bought a pair of BH Neo streets reduced to £4K the pair(!) Insurance from Bikmo at Chester. New for old forever, though premium more than for the Motorhome
Dave W. replied:
Have a serious look at the AS Bikes, he is at mot of the shows, often lends out bikes for people to try and the bikes sell themselves. We have the 36 v large wheel version, nominally folding but we take the battery off before putting it on the bike rack - it is excellent, the range is great, the top speed the same as all the others (15 mph) and the after-sales service legendary; http://www.asbikes.co.uk/
