My college ex-roommate, Brady Matoian, runs a produce distribution center out of Fresno. What better person to interview than the folks responsible for purchasing and packing the very food we eat. If you talk to him, tell him I said hi. We were roommates my freshman year at UCLA. Suerte. http://www.okproduce.com/

Irv Hershenbaum in California they have raised wages and they are lobbying and also threatening to withhold money from republicans who don't support reform. And yet, thats not enough . People think that working the fields is a matter of money, that a higher wage would get some other unemployed person to take the job. But that has proven to not be the case: it's hard, back breaking job, and also you need to have certain abilities. A lot of folk doing the job are born doing it, they're good at it, they come from the country, they are hard physical workers.

It might be interesting to ask Senator Feinstein for input in who to talk to among the foremost who she has dealt with for 25 years or so. Then the Teamsters and the major forms of transport.
