I'm sure this has been asked before, but with a new puppy on the way, what is your recommendation for a local vet practice?
Brynn C. replied:
Chester Pike Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Gal. Loves his animal friends, educated and more reasonable than vets priced around here!

Aston Vet has been amazing with both our dog and our cat!
Erin O. replied:
Dr. Kwon at Brookhaven Vet Hospital. We went through 3 other vets in the area before we met Dr. Kwon, who was the ONLY one able to diagnose my Shiba Inu with the actual cause of her illness. He's incredibly kind and caring and the costs are very reasonable! http://www.brookhavenvet.com/
Kimberly W. replied:
I too suggest Brookhaven Vet.
Kelly C. replied:
Space out all shots. Never get Rabies with anything else. Wait 4 weeks from last shot. Don't over vaccinate please! Do some research cause the vets don't all go by the new rules. I love Media Vet but they too wanna make $ and will give all shots together. Don't do Lepto shot. Since we have a lot of Lyme disease around here, I would do the Lyme vaccine. Good luck!

My mom works for Dr Rose DiLeva. I take my dog to her as well. https://www.facebook.com/animalwellnesscenter

Chester Pike Animal Hospital in Glenolden. I've always used him...Dr. Andrei Gal..and his assistants..especially Shari Kitchen Strolli are the best.
Carolina G. replied:
Glen Mills Veterinary. They are great, have very flexible times (up to 9 pm). Once you are a client you can leave a message for your Vet 24/7 and they'll answer within an hour. Fair prices and they go over all of your options. They always tell you if they think it is worth getting a certain lab exam or not. It is 20 min from Media but worth the drive.
Jacki O. replied:
Bev-We are very happy at Unity Animal Hospital.
Mary H. replied:

Joanne T. replied:
Delco SPCA has low cost services with their U of Pa vet grads. Last week I went with both dogs. Two checkups, three shots and ear medicine was only $185. I also go to Aston Vet once a year for checkup to build a relationship with a full service vet. SPCA does not have X-ray capabilities, etc. but for basic care, you can not beat their prices. Exams are $35, shots $15-25. And they are punctual.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a vet in media who doesn't cost an arm and a leg? We just moved to the area and are looking for somewhere to take our cats for well...
Susan H. replied:
Unity Animal Hospital is great. They offer a monthly payment plan of $10.00 per month for a cat and that covers a years worth of well visits, which includes standard vaccinations.

Dr. Kwan in Brookhaven. My puppy ate a decoration from one of my shoes on the 4 th of July. I called immediately, he called me back in less than 20 minutes, brought her in, pumped her stomach, (it wasn't in there) and only charged me $135! NO minimal $200 charge for walking in on a holiday with an emergency. He is honest.
