We are from Indianapolis and were seen at Riley for a while (we live in TX now). We saw Heidi Neuberger in audiology, and she was pretty familiar with the process of applying for one through insurance. We were also denied by Anthem, but we moved shortly after to OH for grad school. Our son (rma) qualified for Medicaid bc of other medical conditions, and we got ours that way. I would ask to maybe work with a social worker or case worker, as they may information about what he qualifies for or additional grants.
