Ben Shyen, there is no standard way to romanise Penang Hokkien, so each may have developed its own. Some adopt the romanisation of standard Hokkien, but one should be mindful that that is not Penang Hokkien. When faced with words that do not appear in Penang Hokkien, it is fine to use a Mandarin, English or Malay word, as long as the person understands you.
