In San Diego, 10 min from downtown, and in sight of Sea World I'd suggest Campland. You're welcome. [https://www.campland.com/](https://www.campland.com/) Once you're in San Diego, there's a TON of stuff to do, especially this time of year. Sorry to start going full on tour guide, but I love living here.

Jellystone in Lodi California is about as ‘family friendly’ as you can get. Basically an amusement park for kids. The down side is it is in northern CA.

There are several places in AZ that are kid friendly. But at this point any place with pools has probably closed them for the winter. They could have hot tubs open though. We were up near Sedona a few weeks ago and the weather was nice but chilly at night. The campground pool was already closed but hot tub was open. There are state parks within an hour and a half of Phoenix that probably have stuff for kids to do but not pools. There are private campgrounds too but none that I know of in the Phoenix area itself.
Stuff at higher elevations like Sedona, Cottonwood etc will be 50-60 as a high and high 30s to 40s as lows. Phoenix will be around 70 with lows in the 40-50s.
SoCal near Temecula has a few places as well. We have a trip planned for after Xmas. There are a few private campgrounds in the area plus state and Riverside county campgrounds. The Casino campgrounds in the area look nice but theyre pricey and I don’t know if they heat their pools. Theres also a KOA near lake Vail. The state parks are limited on full hook ups in that area. Lake Perris has full hookups and stuff to do. Lake Skinner is a county campground with full hook ups and has stuff to do too.

Newport dunes in socal. Downside is the price and availability

It took a while to get used to dry camping but so much of the stuff to do in SoCal / AZ is more accessible if you are cool with a few days "off grid." Then go hit a regular park and refill, etc. Makes for an adventure! Check out Anza Borrego State Park if you are in SD County, one of the largest state parks in the US (600,000 acres) and there are tours/bike rides, etc. You can camp in a lot of it for free. Ask rangers for more details. Then go hit Campland and civilization for a few days like the other poster said.

If your near San Diego check out KOA Metro SD. It extremely family friendly, huge pool, clean facilities, friendly staff, there are also movies in the park, and other kid friendly activities. There are a lot of things to do and see within a 30 min drive of the campground.
Swimming pools in socal will probably be hard to come by since they would have to be heated. East of San Diego, north of interstate 8 is Agua Caliente which has 3 pools that are fed by a natural spring. Campground is in the middle of nowhere though with the closest services 30 mins away. San Diego county has some solid county run campgrounds. In the suburbs east of San Diego there are several lakes run by local water districts that have campgrounds. I've not been to any of those yet so I can't provide reviews
Further north in Temecula is a KOA which I've heard several people speak highly of. There's also at campground at Lake Skinner which is pretty nice. They have a decent play structure and lots of grass.

We stay at Rincon in Ventura. It's no hookups but you are right on the ocean. From there, Santa Barbara is 30 minutes away.
