Microwave Repair Does anyone know of a place that repairs microwaves preferably in Vancouver? Our microwave's turntable stopped spinning and all the appliance repair...

They don’t fix them because it’s cheaper to just get a new one than get it fixed. (Based on personal experience of trying to get one repaired & giving up after being told this 1/2 dozen times).

It could be the little motor that rotates the turntable has packed it in. This is a very common problem and a relatively simple fix if you are at all handy with a screwdriver. Many microwaves have a break-away hatch on their bottom to access and replace it without taking the whole thing apart. Replacement motors can be found at Reliable Parts and Lee's Electronics. Just bring the dead one with you and the odds are good they'll be able supply a replacement. Here's an example with the pop-out hatch removed: https://imgur.com/ZDaojfD

Is the microwave totally without power? I fixed mine by replacing the ceramic fuse which costs less than $5 at Canadian Tire, but you have to be willing to open it up and check the existing fuse ratings and size.

Forum Appliances does small appliance repairs. They're also an authorized repair facility for Breville. Their main location where repairs are done is in Chinatown, but they have a store in Lansdowne Mall in Richmond as well. $99@Canadian Tire, drop the old one off at Sally Ann, they take care of it.

How old is the microwave? ~~Black Friday~~ Boxing Day is not far away and it may be cheaper than the hourly rate for a repair. https://www.costco.ca/total-chef---700-watts-microwave-oven-with-digital-controls-(0.7-cu.-ft.20-litres).product.100708472.html
Can anyone recommend a good small appliance repair person? Someone who could fix my KitchenAid mixer. Local would be preferable. Thanks!

Chris at Poco appliance is great. However I'm not sure if they fix mixers. You'd have to call and check.

I don't know about local but I take my Kitchen Aid to a guy on Lonsdale in North Van. It's a small Kitchen Aid repair place. He takes good care of it. Mine is 16+ years old!

Hello friends. Our fridge has decided it no longer wants to keep things cold. Know a good appliance repair company that does house calls?

Here's our guy (he does everything and we use him often): Sergiy Gorbunov, 604.518.6995, qualitytechbc@gmail.com. He likes iMessage, btw. Mention Joseph as your recommend and he'll take good care of ya.

We've used Handy Appliance on/off Fraser. Surly, but effective.
