Hi, Hope this is ok to post. I just wondered if anyone could recommend any restaurants in or around Cambourne/ Papworth/ local villages? We've recently moved to the area...

The Willow Tree in Bourn.
Alison B. replied:
The Willow Tree in Bourn is fab, and a really special place for a birthday. The Eltisley is also good. I like No 77 in Caxton, which does Thai food but it is quite spicy. It's within easy walkibg distance of Cambourne as well. The Blue Lion in Hardwick is also nice. Personally, I think Little Venice is dreadful, but some people like it.

Thanks everyone. We went to The Poacher in Elsworth. Lovely food off a basic menu at reasonable prices+ friendly service with a smile. Will try your recommendations on our next ventures out.
Anyone know a good place to get a christmas tree? Our usual place - Parsonage Farm, aren't doing them this year. You could pick your tree in the field and they would...

George & Dragon, Elsworth

The best roast I've ever had (and consistently brilliant) is The Shoe at Offord Darcy - wonderful carvery on Sundays, very popular so you have to book. About 20 mins away via Papworth bypass, Yelling then Graveley via the country roads

The Eltisley, the Golden Ball at Boxworth or The Dunscombe Arms at Waresley
Victoria C. replied:
The black horse at Dry Drayton. X

Hubby and I are in a rut, please give me suggestions for restaurants that are nearby (Cambridge, St Neots, Huntingdon). Thank you!!!
Jane T. replied:
If you don't mind a 20 min drive then the George hotel at Buckden is lovely - old pretty building and fab bistro. Very stylish and yummy food. Boutique hotel as well if you fancy staying over. Another good pub in that direction is 'The Shoe' at Offord D'arcy
Julia B. replied:
Crown and Punchbowl in Horningsea is very good, also The Plough in Fen Ditton.
Tracey K. replied:
Three horseshoes at Harston. Fantastic Thai food, also have their sister restaurant called The Navigator at Little Shelford
Su M. replied:
77 in Caxton for Thai, the Bosphorus in St Neots for Turkish, The Plough in Fen Ditton for gastro-pub, The Hot Rock at the Manor in Alconbury, The Hoops in Eversden for Indian, there's a really good Morrocan restaurant on Mill road in Cambridge.......
