Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good therapists in Canterbury/surrounding areas?
I've had 6 weeks talking therapy for anxiety through the NHS...

Hi, you can always ask for your talking therapy to be extended or if it wasn't enough, a different type of therapy, perhaps CBT for example? You can also try Psicon in Canterbury, I believe that is self referral too from the NHS website. The Community Counselling service is also very good - 01227 766441. There is also The Frazzled Cafe that meets at Marks and Spencer weekly for fellow anxiety and depression sufferers. There's also an anxiety and depression group that meets weekly in Canterbury. Mindfulness at the Concorde centre weekly is also great. Feel free to shout if you have any questions. Good luck and well done for seeking further help, anxiety can be very debilitating.

A good place for finding a therapist is often the search engine provided by [Pink Therapy](http://www.pinktherapy.com/en-gb/findatherapist.aspx).

I don't know about what private options are available. If you approach your doctor, they should be able to refer you to a therapist. Mine gave me the option to go the George Turle House, but I turned it down at the time. (If you do find a good therapist, please tell me because I'm from Canterbury too and could do with seeing one.)

Google counselling directory. You generally don't find gender specialists like you find at GenderCare gender or at a gic but you will wind some who has some experience.
