If you have a complicated prescription, as I do (-10 and -6 diopters with astigmatism) you need a proper optician. I go to Hugh Pinney at Brownbill's in Ashford, who can truly make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

To be fair, the ability to fix a pair of broken frames is not an indicator of a good optician, but I'm sure David Grimes has other talents, if the posts on here are anything to go by. I confess to being surprised that one of the chains could not help.
