Any parents on here that can recommend a good family doctor that sees babies or a pediatrician? Looking for someone more on the natural, holistic side that is on board...
Molly B. replied:
You might try Wiseman Family Practice. I see Jeremy Wiseman in Cedar Park, but they have South & Westlake locations. I know they see kids, but don't have personal experience w/ their views on vaccines (my kids are older). You might also call People's Wellness Center. I contacted them when I was looking for a biological dentist & they were very helpful.

Also, Primaldocs.com

Dr Elizabeth reidy (spelling?) at schoolhouse pediatrics lets mom do own vax schedule
Kristen W. replied:
Molly - Wiseman Family Practice looks awesome, but their website says they only see ages 1-over. I may consider them for my doctor though. Thanks!

Carlisle Pediatrics. That's where both my children go.
Meghan K. replied:
Dr. L Hoffman at Carlisle pediatrics is amazing!
Olivia H. replied:
My kids have been going to Carlisle Pediatrics for 13 years. I've only seen 2 doctors that I didn't care for. But you can always ask for certain doctors. Dr Waters, Raubenstine, Holly, Lynn, and Frank are all very good with my kids.
Brooke F. replied:
I take my daughter to Holy Spirit Pediatrics in Mechanicsburg. She's 14 months now and we've been going there since day one. All of the staff and doctors have been amazing.
Amy D. replied:
My 6 kids have always gone to Carlisle pediatrics. We have had a couple bad experiences, but you'll have that anywhere. Dr. Lynn is the absolute best, and turned the worst of the bad experiences around for us. Very thorough and caring.
Chynna S. replied:
Carlisle Peds!! Dr holly or dr Lynn are the best there imo.
Deb H. replied:
When I had that type of insurance and even after I hiked it up 81 from Carlisle to Chambersburg to Keystone Pediatrics. They were awesome from newborn thru 6 at least...once I moved to mechanicsburg we started at heritage peds.
Chris N. replied:
Carlisle Pediatrics is great because they have 5 doctors. If your child doesnt jive with one try another.
Mindy S. replied:
Dr Holly at Carlisle Peds is so hard to get an appointment with because she's over booked . Hoffman was the doctor that said when my son was 4 months old that he was going to be obese because we mixed a little cereal with his formula at bed time to help him sleep . He will be 10 next month and weighs only 54 lbs . I started taking him to the doctor there on Forge Road on the corner across from Rite Aid. There not Peds but very good, thorough doctors and they were always playful with my son and loved to joke around with him alot . Good Luck with whom ever you choose for your children's medical care .
Jayne J. replied:
I have 3 children 17 28 and 30 I took all 3 to Carlisle Peds and only saw Dr Lynn Hoffman....he is the best there is in our area for children and very thorough...he is not a pill pusher so if your child doesn't need meds he wont prescribe them as most doctors will just hand them out at will...I never ever had an issue with him
Ashley K. replied:
Holy Spirit by target is where I take Kayleigh and they are great with her always have been
Christina B. replied:
Do not go to Carlisle Peds!!!!! I've heard nothing but awful things!
Kearah W. replied:
This may be a bit of a drive but well worth it...I take my son down to keystone pediatrics in chambersburg! They r seriously amazing. Dr Kent & Dr Colli r my favv!
Florinda T. replied:
I have seven kids. My oldest is special needs and she see Dr. Waters. She is good with her. But I have had some bad experience there but I try to stay away from those drs. I also love the one male Dr in there. I can't remember his name but he is Hispanic. He gets u in and our fast. He tells u what should be going with ur child at the age they are, what to expect and what shots, ect. Also he makes little jokes with the kids.
Aleasha S. replied:
We have gateway and go to Carlisle Peds. Doctor waters is the best!
Kierstyn T. replied:
Dr waters or Dr L Hoffman from Carlisle pediatrics. My son has gateway too and I love those two doctors! I do not like dr Frank! And Dr Holly Hoffman is NOT as good as everyone says.. But that's just how I feel.. Her brother is Dr L hoffman and he's way better
Lynne F. replied:

Carlisle Pediatrics
Cindy S. replied:
Dr Phelan was in his own practice by with Carlisle peds
Victoria H. replied:
Not Carlisle Peds. Take the time and drive elsewhere. Check out Heritage Pediatrics on Market street in Camp Hill.
Justine L. replied:
We have a family doctor but I'm not sure if he is currently taking patients. His name is Dr. Phelan. He is across from the carlisle hospital. My children are 7, 5 & 1 and they have all gone to him since birth. I refuse to ever take them to carlisle peds bc I've heard to many horrifying stories. This doctor also has four children of his own and is wonderful with my kids. Is playful with them every time they need to be there and talks about school with my 7 year old daughter. My 1 year old was really sick last year, took him to urgent care bc we were on a time crunch and they told me it was viral, two days later he was worse and Phelan set him up with antibiotics and a nebulizer bc it turns out it was asthmatic bronchitis all along. He is just awesome and I highly recommend him.
Angie M. replied:
Holy Spirit Pediatrics, formerly Ryder and Barnes Pediatrics, on Aspen Drive in Mechanicsburg. They do not mess around if something is wrong. All of my kids have major health problems and the doctors there have always been quick to give a correct diagnosis. It's definitely worth the extra drive to have great doctors for your kids.
Cindy S. replied:
Like Angie Pittenger Miller said Holy Spirit peds is the only place to go if you want great care! Carlisle peds was an awful experience for our oldest daughter who is now 28. And with my youngest daughter who is now 23 we were going to dr Phelan when she was a baby. Worst experience of my life! As a mom I knew there was something wrong with my baby and after disagreeing with me for over 2 1/2 years, dr. Phelan's exact words to me were "I was being a neurotic mother". Thank God we went elsewhere because we found out that she actually had Spina bifida, a life threatening birth defect which required major surgery. After leaving dr Phelan we found Holy Spirit peds and that is the only place we go. My daughter is 23 an they still see her. Their doctors are the best!
Jamie G. replied:
Graham medical clinic in newville....Dr. Harris is the absolute best......I and my 4 children see him and only him....right off newville exit of 81....worth the drive for outstanding care! (By the way I am a nurse)
Stephanie B. replied:
I have had all good experience with Carlisle peds. Dr Lynne Hoffman has by far been the best Dr. He is very thorough and very nice.
Jeremy S. replied:
Not to be rude but you are telling people to stay away from a place that 20+ years ago you had a problem with? The doc doesn't even work there any more. Carlisle Pediatrics is the only place I take my kids even though they are out of network for me. Dr. Holly Hoffman and Dr. Stephen J. Krebs are 2 of the best out there hands down.
Does anyone know of any good pediatrician offices in the Mechanicsburg-Carlisle area? Seriously done with mine.....
Marlene A. replied:
We like JDC PEDs in Mechanicsburg
Amy C. replied:
I use Tan and Garcia with Zechariah they are in Camp Hill tho ...right across Boscov's Department Store
Shannon B. replied:
Shawna love Dr Love at JDC and they have 8 drs to choose from.
Michelle H. replied:
I'll have to check them out. Thank you everyone. It's sad, this office has been used by family for years. Dr. Ryder was my pediatrician but his staff has no idea how to run an office. No reminder calls, notes only good for one day, took over 2 weeks to schedule Scarlet's 2 year, and today they forgot about Kimmee. We were in the waiting room for an hour....
Amy L. replied:
Heritage is where my kids go. We've never had any issuues there. My kids love Dr. Zimmerman.
Jennifer R. replied:
Love love love Dr. Gradzka at JDC in wertzville!! That off is WONDERFUL!!
My kids went to Carlisle Peds and now their babies go there also. DR Waters is fantastic as well as a few of the other Drs there.
Stephanie D. replied:
