Along with the other people I strongly recommend Bowmans for seafood, and mouthwatering hamburger steak. Also stay away from big daddy's. No prices on the menu, and yes the prices are high when you get the bill. The 2 best places on the island for dessert is the famous Britts Doughnuts, and if you're in the mood for ice cream just walk into the pierhouse and get whatever flavor you desire. Another recommendation is the little burger place called Beach house Burgers there down below Seven Seas Inn. It is a walk up and order type place, and it is one of the less expensive places to get something to eat.

FYI you have to make a reservation for Freddie's. Once the tourist season starts, they get booked up. Monday nights (normally they have a double portion of their pork chops and my husband loves them. I love their lasagna and steaks. The salad dressing is homemade and delish. Jack Mackerel's is good, they have outdoor seating and a rooftop deck. Their black n blue burger is yummy! Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn at Carolina Beach is great. Yes, you must go to Britt's! We get bummed when they close for the 'off season'. Lots of new places opening at Carolina Beach so you may have more to check out when you are here. Check out Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and follow them.
