Opinions on ob/gyn in Carrollton! Need one badly! I'm pregnant but the ob that delivered my son keeps trying to bump me back to be seen at a later date. I want to be...

I used one in Carrollton, but not he ones you guys are talking about. I tried them with my first that I lost, and they were horrible. I used Dr. Martin's office and they were fabulous every time.

Stacia F. replied:
I went to West GA OBGYN and Dr. Zeller put me on 3 different medications and told me I couldn't get pregnant without fertility drugs which she wouldn't give to me until I lost 60 lbs. She wouldn't explain to me what the medications were, what the side effects were, etc and practically pushed me out the door. 1 year later I went to Villa Rica OBGYN and Dr. Anderson ran a lot of tests and told me to stop taking the meds Zeller had prescribed (2 of them weren't even supposed to be taken together). She told me I was fine and didn't need any fertility meds. 3 months later I got pregnant. Unfortunately, Dr. Anderson left last summer and the midwife Linda McDaniel left last month. Dr. Campbell is the only one left to my understanding. They were super understaffed when Dr. Anderson left so I can only imagine how crowded it would be now. Good luck! Sorry I don't have any suggestions, just wanted to give my experience:)

West Georgia Healthcare for Women. I have seen Dr.Thomas there for 2 years now. She's wonderful! My son had 2 vessels cord and and Echogenic intracardiac focus on the scan. She took such good care of us and kept a close eye and explained everything so that I could understand and made me feel confident that she had it under control. 2 months ago she delivered my healthy little boy. I love West Georgia Healthcare for Women. The whole office and the two other doctors, Dr. Couvere and Dr. Dodson, were outstanding during my pregnancy.

Dr. Nelson is amazing. Delivered my baby 5 weeks ago. Was joking and laughing during delivery and trying to keep my mind off actual labor and kept encouraging me. About 2 hours after delivery he brought my baby a new testament bible with her name weight and all that stuff and signed it from his as her first gift. It was really sweet. He is a good Dr. So is dr. Jewell.

Lacy B. replied:
Yes. Dr. Nelson signs a cute little bible for the babies. Even if you don't believe in that, it's a beautiful sweet gesture from a doctor. He's delivered both of my babies...well technically one since the nurses delivered my second child(40 min labor 3 min pushing)

VR- Kept stabbing me in the back with the catheter because it kept getting stuck at the tip of the needle... So good luck with whatever you choose...:) God has his hands on that baby!
Can any of you ladies recommend a good ob/gyn in the near by area that takes amerigroup besides dr vera(i see him now and want to change i had an abnormal pap at the end...
Amanda G. replied:
North Douglas OBGYN
Kalen A. replied:
Sign up for Dr Veras patients portal. It gives you the results to every test.
Susan R. replied:
7702142121 is their number
Amanda T. replied:
That is normal to wait 6 months or sometimes even longer. A prudent doctor is not going to recommend something that is not common practice or what research shows. It's their license and lively hood if they don't do what's best for you based off of clinical findings. Plus, I'm sure they care about you as a person and want you to be healthy. I don't think your doctor sits around and says hmmmmm.... How can I harm this girl. Also, dr's can order the tests that you need but your government provided insurance, amerigroup will deny to pay for such. Your "insurance" could put that test off even longer although your doctor seems it necessary at a certain interval. Now to your question, Dr. Campbell was excellent. Her faults are She is dry and boring. Her strengths are that she is knowledgable, proficient and caring. It's your choice though. The patient is now considered the customer so you are always right. You are always right until you want your insurance to pay up.

Dr. LINDA Ford!! She is mine and I love her. She gets to know her patients and takes time with them and is amazing. I had been having troubles for a few years and could never get any of the other gyns to help or listen. Only try this pill or this pill. I knew what was going on but none would listen to me. DR. FORD took the time and listened and we took a few months to rule out certain things and then she finally gave me a couple of options. I had a hysterectomy almost 2 years ago. She told me after surgery that I was right in what I felt and it needed to be done.

Stevana C. replied:
I use Dr. Couvrer at west ga healthcare for women in Carrollton. She also delivered my daughter and is amazing! Before her I used Dr. Suzanne Lowery on Thornton rd. I only stopped seeing her because she didn't deliver babies. I loved her though!

Dr. Helton here in Carrollton is awesome. I highly recommend him. He saved mine & my twins lives back in 1993. If not for him I would've died along with the babies.
Christina B. replied:
Dr. Nelson at Carrollton Ob/Gyn is amazing! He's my regular gynecologist and he's also been taking care of me during my pregnancy. He's funny and jokes around with you but he's also very realistic in what's going on with your body regarding risks and things of that nature but he will do everything he possibly can do to make your day completely comfortable. And during the awkward exams he'll keep you laughing to keep your mind off of it because sometimes women are a little nervous. I give him five stars and I definitely recommend him!
Angel M. replied:

I used dr Vera for my second baby but switched to dr Thomas for my third baby. Had a c section with both and dr Thomas performed my tubal ligation. Between the two I would recommend dr Thomas highly. She is so attentive, very nice, and respectful. I never felt rushed or ever left feeling like I wasn't 100% completely sure or informed of what was going on. Dr Vera always made me feel like I was not a priority as he has a high patient list.
Lindsay B. replied:
Dr. Bryant - kennestone OBGYN. Had a very difficult c section with my first baby at a military hospital. Decided the second time around I wanted to go to the best of the best and wanted a doctor that would hear me out abnout possible vaginal birth after c section. Dr. Bryant was open to all of my ideas and if there were questions of why it was not recommended he was thorough in explaining why. He knew my background as a nurse and how I was terrified about bleeding out again with my second c section when we had waited as long as we could without putting me at a huge risk for uterine rupture. So he talked to me a little about his daughter and my oldest trying to get me to calm down. During the entire procedure he explained to me exactly what was going on. Approximately how much blood I had lost and what he could see so that I had a visualization of what was going on. That team that day was incredibly compassionate and worked well with me. He never quickly dismissed me and I never felt rushed. He's a great doctor.
