Need a recommendation for what you use for carpet cleaning/steaming. Know just about nothing about them. Rent a rug doctor? Buy one? What do you use? Thanks.
Kristine B. replied:
Here is their contact 365-9212---can't guarantee their do Belle Plaine, but worth a try. They have been cleaning my carpets for the last 15 years.

Nicki S. replied:
Call someone to come do it - as long as you can see most of the carpet. It's not expensive at all. I have used Stanley Steamer many times and they have done a good job. They will move some furniture too.
Kristine B. replied:
I use a local family owned business in CR--called Reliable Carpet. Ask for Terry and tell them I recommended them for you.
Not a slam on the medical community, insurance or any other bandwagon I know it is easy to jump on. Just a simple dream: I dream of a day that my chiropractor, dentist,...

Melissa Kahler is a family doc who goes to NCBC and is on your side of town. We went to her with Eli until we moved, now she's just too far away. I have no idea if her office has a vaccine policy but she's great. Details: Westside Family Medicine 2375 Edgewood Rd SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 (319) 396-1983

Sarah P. replied:
New rule - they just made it where you had to have all vaccines before the new year. I didn't have issues with Dr. Goldman delaying them either but now not getting all of them is an issue I guess.
Amber B. replied:
I see Dr Fox at Mercy Care in Marion (right next to the fire department across from HyVee). I switched to him because my ped had an issue with Anna being born at home, and he said "as long as you are not asking me to come to your house to deliver the ...See More
Amber B. replied:
Also, it was Pediatrics PC we were at before we had Anna. They said I had to bring her in TODAY (in an hour) when I called to schedule her 2 month checkup. They said if I did not bring her in THAT DAY that they would refuse to see her in the future. I was livid. But it turned out to be a great thing in the end, I'm very glad to be away from that office.
Sarah P. replied:
You know I really liked Dr. Goldman but when they sent that letter out I was determined to make it as close to the deadline as I could because I planned on starting some vaccines for Hazel at 2 years and her birthday is at the start of January. Well t...See More

John Brownell is a great family practitioner that goes to NCBC as well. He is on the SW side of town. I'm not sure of his view on vaccinations. He will be speaking at MOPS in February though. Really nice guy. We go to him.
Keri W. replied:
You know we love Dr. Mark Reinertson at St. Luke's Pediatrics, but I believe you said you don't like that office...If you've changed your mind, I'd be happy to give you his contact info!
Sarah P. replied:
Yah well Pediatrics PC sent out a letter that you had to get all of your vaccines by the new year or were no longer a patient. I as a little late I wait until they are 2 to do any, and they informed me that I would have to also do the vaccines like the chicken pox one for my boys or not a patient. That is not a negotiating option for me so we hunt once more.

One day when I was about 10, Dr. Lehr saw my dad while making morning rounds at St. Luke's where dad had just had surgery, came to my house to diagnose me with chicken pox, and then was called to the ER where my mom was taken when she fell at the old Fillmore school when going for my homework! Even though he knew my mom HATED swearing, he took one look at her broken ankle, shook his head, and said, "your whole family went straight to hell today," and she couldn't argue with that!:) Thank goodness, my grandmother lived with us, so I wasn't left alone!
