They did the same thing to me. Always been happy with Progressive for car insurance, but not so much the companies they partner with for home. Check out esurance. I did and saved a ton. You don't need an agent.

All insurance seems to go up every year, but hey, there's no inflation, right?
Dr-Vas replied:
You probably want a broker - someone who can write policies for lots of companies. Someone who works for state farm typically can only write state farm policies. Which isn't necessarily the best deal. I use a broker for a bunch of different types of policies I have. PM me for his contact info if interested.

We have State Farm with Kathy Kilo Peterson. Our homeowners insurance has gone up less than $50 in the past 3 years. Their price was within $100 of the old safeco policy, but car insurance was a lot cheaper. Granted we get decent discounts due to the fact we a lot of policies. We have the house, two cars, farm & ranch policy, and an umbrella policy. They've been more than fair when dealing with claims in the past.

Steve LaVigne with The LaVigne Group got me some good rates with Safeco when Progressive did the same to me

My real estate agent referred me to The Ryan Borland Agency. He was very professional and was happy to explain different things about insurance to me, which I didn't understand, and answer all of my many questions. I think he said he currently deals with 10-15 insurance companies. The coverage he set us up with from Safeco seems a lot better and quite a bit cheaper than the rates State Farm gave us. I was surprised, especially since State Farm took into consideration that we were bundling home/auto and have had renters/auto with them for many years now. Anyway, [here is the website for Ryan Borland.](http://www.ryanborland.com/) So far I have only had this initial experience dealing with him but he was very knowledgeable and easy to deal with.
