They do sedation at Dr. Hemann/Dr. Cheng's office in Urbana.

I took my ASD son to Dr. Rose~ once. [Speaks for itself.] I recommend Dr. Chifan Cheng in Urbana, 337-6000 if you wish a Pedodontist. I would also recommend the Parkland College Dental Hygiene Clinic [which would be a fee of $10 or NO charge IF he receives Medicaid.] The students are supervised with Registered Dental Hygienists and a clinical DDS. They are thorough, and would probably work in pairs for the extra attention that may be needed [and to share in the educational experience.] Their patience and diligence may provide for his not needing sedation. They are certified to provide Nitrous oxide, if a patient is determined to need it. The Clinic would communicate with physician, as needed also. Please call 351-2221 for an appt. [The Clinic does not provide restorative care or extractions. ] You also may wish to contact Smile Healthy at Francis Nelson Health services. Call: for appt 217/403-5477. http://www.promisehealth.org/dental-center

My son was terrified of the dentist when he was younger and he had work done under sedation at Dr. Hemann's office and it was a great experience...for him and for me!
Andrea S. replied:
We just went to Dr Rose for the first time yesterday and it went smoothly. We don't meed sedation for routine procedures but we have needed it for more involved things. I am curious what was the problem with his office from the previous post?
Looking for some dentist recommendations Somehow, I broke a tooth right before heading back down to campus, so I'm looking for a good dentist place close to campus. On a...
Dalambo replied:
Also, steer clear of Champaign Family Dental up on Anthony Drive near the mall. Their care was the absolute worst. When I broke a tooth, they put on a permanent crown that fell off three times before I forced them to redo the work completely, then had my new dentist check their work. He ended up having to redo it because the tooth got infected, so i had to have a root canal and a new crown. Plus, the place is a revolving door of dentists, so major dental work can actually mean having 2 to 3 different doctors working on different phases. Stay away.

I went to Dr David Bacheller for some minor work. Would recommend. Very affordable, right off the bus line. Very low frill place, just good dentistry. On a side note, search "dentist" on this subreddit because the question has been asked a lot. That's how I found Dr Bacheller!

Dr Standley! Great staff and great dentist. I believe they also take student Heath insurance.

Good question, Shannon Scherer. We make a note in the chart saying no exam today, hygiene approved by Dr. So and So, no complaints, sensitivity, problems per pt. I also follow up with no areas of concern noted during prophylaxis. In a case where doctor is out of the office, we do call patients ahead of time to notify them that the doctor is out of the office.

Jeff Frerichs, near Duncan and Windsor. He's an excellent dentist and a great guy; I have had him in on days off to get me out of pain ASAP. He is a bit of a geek in his field, mills his own crowns in-house with machines he'll gladly show you. And covered by student insurance.

I go to West Main Dental. It's just north of LSQ (on Main, go figure). Great staff, dentist is really great, and they don't try to pull any bs by overcharging or anything. Also, widescreens in the ceiling of some of the offices. :) EDIT: He is in the BCBS Network - I started going to him when I had them.
