Does anyone know there is a juvenile justice center in Oklahoma County? If so, do you know where it's located? Have you ever seen a mother fall to her knees and sob...

Matt, I agree, addiction is a disease. Some of your resources are places that do not provide assistance. The juvenile justice centers exist only for parents who are in the court system. Many of the other services cost money and most parents cannot afford to access them unless their children are in state custody--then the state pays for it. Others will not take cases unless the kids are in state custody and the shelters are for children that are already in custody. In other words, you cannot access any of these sources unless your children are already in state custody. None of us as concerned citizens can access any of the resources. Children's hospital only reports or treats abuse. No one there will give you any information about how to help families. Oklahoma Lawyers for Children will talk to you if you're a lawyer who wishes to represent children in existing court cases. These are not resources and they exist only to serve the state of Oklahoma in protecting children. The threshold question is who have we empowered to provide or not provide funding for families and children, the mentally ill, and the addicted. My battle cry is, "Become a CASA volunteer, sign up to do the hardest job you'll ever have as a foster parent, and speak truth to those in power.

Jessica J. replied:
Depends on what they are doing. Mark Pordos is a great attorney. He does all off our legal work. He usually requires $500 down, but we made payments on the rest.
