In DC? I know just the guy for contractor stuff. As for movers, we always use Mitch the Mover (mitchthemover.com). Reasonably priced and super fast.

Bookstore Movers were the absolute best. Great prices, great crew, did a wonderful job on a pretty large move for us within the district. They even have an affordable packing service available that saved us SO much time and worry.
