THANK YOU, everyone. I know the subject is a repetitive one, but I had a "enough is enough" moment today. I am going to try the $74/mo plan they offered: High Speed up/down, basic/economy cable, and that is about it. I check my up/down speeds via http://www.speedtest.net/ and as of right now I am getting 16.28 mB down and 12.06 up. WOW is not offered and At&T said my speeds would be less with them... Feels archaic and like a Monopoly having only Comcast to rely on. Once the pipes open up life will be so much better for everyone digitally speaking. Great article about Chattanooga where I am from: http://www.nytimes.com/.../fast-internet-service-speeds...

AT&T U-verse is available but, last I heard, the maximum speed they were offering (download) was 50Mb/s. I have 100Mb/s from Comcast and will consider switching once AT&T offers that speed or higher.

If you can get WOW, go for it. The Big Companies are over priced and service is poor. We had Comcast and they were throttling NetFlix on us.! frown emoticon We cut the cord ages ago, because it was ridiculous to have to pay for Cable when all it is Commercials.? My wife and I work from home (3+ PCs on internet) and have Roku, NetFlix, Amazon Movies, etc. We simply use the same cable for our TV to get basic channels, and other TV uses Air Antenna as well. WOW has great service and support. Our Internet has had a few outages, but They were On It and fixed the issue. The issue with WOW is you never know if you can get it as they are not neighborhood wide yet. Oh....$29.95 a month for our lower speed solution (17+Mbps Down; 1.98Mbps Up). Cut the Cord. smile emoticon You can talk them down for Free Install and 1 yr at X speed offers. NO contracts.

I made the switch from Comcast to Uverse TV and Internet last fall and so far, so good. We can actually stream Netflix without 85 interruptions! If you go with AT&T, watch your bill after the first couple months when they start billing you for HBO and other channels they gave you for free initially. Still, they have yet to come close to the incompetency of Comcast.
I know I've seen this on here before but.... Can anyone tell me who provides internet service in the northern part of Wagener Terrace? I have Directv and don't want to...

I agree with Jean...AT&T is HORRIBLE..you can never talk to the same person twice if you have a problem...I even tried to report a documented saga to the better business bureau once.... I HATE AT&T! Will never use AT&T even if they offered Free service....am I clear...? Hate AT&T....
Does anybody have any good recommendations for internet service? I have
AT&T but they only have the 1.3mbps service "in our area," whatever that means. Looking for...
Does anyone have only internet service? (I.e., not cable TV). Anybody particularly happy with their 'net service? We're thinking of changing/downgrading.
