I recommend Play Dog Excellent in Red Bank. We take our husky there once a week and she loves it. We've taken her there before for puppy classes and loved how they do things. They know dogs and we trust them with our pup.

Barkmore is great

I know it’s already been said but +1 for Play Dog Excellent. They really are the best.
Canklehamster replied:
Play wash pint is on the Southside and offers daycare. You would need proof of vaccinations and the dog has to be fixed. They are also a bar you can take your dog to for just a play date. Could be a fun time
amf170 replied:
The Barkmore! They just changed facilities and it looks great. The staff is so awesome and helpful. Our pup has social anxiety and we thought she wouldn’t like playing with other dogs. We were wrong. They were so patient with her and now she gets so excited to go.

I’ve always taken my dogs to The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel when I’ve visited. They have 3 locations around Chattanooga. My favorite is in Hixson. Their website is www.thearkspa.com.

Blowing Springs Kennel is the best place, hands down. They only take large breed dogs, and they'll happily take your pitbull. They are not the cheapest option, but they are the best you could want for your dog (as a result they are often fully booked, so I'd call early!) I've taken mine to Barkmore, The Ark, a few others... none compare to Blowing Springs Kennel.

I'm not sure if it would be the right area or schedule, but Bayside Baptist in Harrison has Day Camp twice a week, from 9-2 pm. They have been very accommodating for my SPD child, and have a Special Friends program. Their VBS is coming up next week, 8:45-2 pm, that M-F.

Feeling very overwhelmed! I'm looking on a summer camp or daycare for my 5yr old grandson with severe autism, any suggestions? Signal Centers camp is full
Elizabeth T. replied:
We have a large list of camps for special needs listed on our resource page of our website, Www.chattanoogaautismcenter.org. Most may be full, but keep trying;-) Also, we have a respite program called Parents Night Out. Their next event is July 3 rd at the North River YMCA.
Looking for suggestions for a non-religious daycare. All in the title. Thanks in advance.

Chattanooga State has an absolutely wonderful daycare/preschool. My older son (now 18) went there years ago and then my younger son (now 6) went there. Even though they were that far apart, they had mostly the same teachers. On top of that, it is very affordable, for daycare anyway.
tonymcd replied:
Check out Primrose. They are fairly expensive, but looking back I feel it was worth it. There's one in Hixon and one on Gunbarrel.

Little Miss Mag. Takes 6 weeks to 5 years. My child went there for 4 years and we both loved it. Amazing staff, good curriculum. It also has sliding-scale pricing if you ask for it.
megalynn44 replied:
The Montessori school is not religious and has toddler and preschool programs.

I went to [Little Miss Mag](http://www.littlemissmag.org/) when I was a kid. Unless they've changed in 40 years, there was absolutely no religion involved.

There's a children's center through the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. They have two locations: Brown Academy and Battle Academy.

Be sure to check out Signal Centers. They are capable of caring for typical and special needs children. In my opinion, it's wonderful for typical kids and special needs kids to interact with each other. They all benefit from the experience. My sons and daughter went from six weeks until kindergarten.
