Anyone have any doctor memories. I remember a few great guys like Dr. Spiry and Doc. Nolan.
Vicky E. replied:
Dr. Nolan made house calls back then.
Jon M. replied:
Dr. Nolan would have a cigarette dangling from his mouth when he examined you.
Ron M. replied:
Dr Spiry yup He was our Dr for 30 odd yrs 6 kids + my niece in 58 Thx for the reminder
John N. replied:
I remember taking a physical for the RR at the clinic. During the exam for railroad employment I had to take a hearing test. Dr. Nolan had me sit in a small examining room, he stepped into the hall and whispered"can you hear me Johnnie". ha They kept things simple in those days.
Jane W. replied:
Dr. Gerrish and Dr. Lined were my doctors. They were great!
Jane W. replied:
Linde. Dr. Gerrish is living in AZ.
Teri H. replied:
Dr. Lowe was our doc.
Lori C. replied:
Dr Mc Clellan, DDS and of course Dr Linde.
Judy H. replied:
Dr Stidler came here in 74/75 and drowned in 75 I believe!
Martha R. replied:
Just remembered her last name - Bessie Shaefer (sp?) worked at the clinic with Mom, Martha Boschker. They both worked there Forever! and smoked like crazy. And I remember Dr. Nolan's whisper hearing test too, John.
Joy H. replied:
Dr. Collins
Karen G. replied:
Dr. John Lowe was my Health & Biology teacher in Glenham back in 68-71. We all loved him so much.
Jane B. replied:
Yep. Bessie Schaffer. She was Grandma Marge's friend. She had no children, so she came to our house, in Texas, for Christmas many times. She had very bad arthritis. My dad would fix everyone a drink before dinner, but Bessie would always say, "Walt, I need a little more whiskey." I know it helped her pain. The boys grew to love her as another Granny.
Deb M. replied:
Dr. Ryan and Dr, Gerrish
Peggy Z. replied:
Dr. Harold Lowe,
Rod M. replied:
Dr Spiry spanked my bottom when I was born...the old railroad hospital by the tracks, anybody over 60 should remember that place
John N. replied:
Dr. and Mrs. Nolan had an amazing family. Three sons become physicians, all of the family accomplished one way or another.
Larry H. replied:
Doc Spiry took out my appendics....based on the scar I think he used a spoon.....just kidding although my scar is bigger than any I've seen
Lee E. replied:
Dr. Nolan made a house call and diagnosed my appendics. Took it out the same day.
Susie R. replied:
My first son (over thirty years ago) was an emergency C section. They wheeled me down the hallway so Dr Lawrence could operate. I remember yelling at Doc Lawrence "Just rip this kid out of me. I've had enough." quite a few times. I had been in labor quite awhile. Took me a few years to look Doc Lawrence in the face again! I just remember yelling at the man REAL LOUD!!!
Martha R. replied:
Susie Roshau - so funny! Truly LOL!
Martha R. replied:
My Mom worked for Dr Nolan n Dr Spiry
Debbie G. replied:
Dr. Collins delivered all three of our kids. I do remember Dr. Weiland. He was a kind, caring doctor that took time to listen to you. And Terri Walth, Carl Peters was our family doctor for many years.:)
Sheila S. replied:
Dr. Steidler delivered Josh on April 15, '76. Two months later he drowned in Lake Oahe. It was a shocking and very painful loss to our community.
Judy H. replied:
I had 5 kids and Dr Linde delivered all 5 !
Monte D. replied:
I admired Dr Spiry and dreamed that I might become an MD.
Twyla F. replied:
Dr. Linde, Spiry, Steidler and the ever famous Mavis Burdict who answered the phone and made the appointments way before computers. Seems to me it was a much more efficient way to take care of the patients.
LaDonna H. replied:
Dr. Ryan!
Jay S. replied:
Dr. B.P. Nolan and my mother LaVerne would smoke cigarettes in the exam room while I was being examined. One time Doc Nolan told me, "Aw quit crying and acting like a baby," and then, with cigarette dangling between lips, proceeded to lance and drain my inner ear. This is when the clinic was on main street just north of post office.
Becky R. replied:
Dr. Bud Lowe and Dr. John Lowe. I remember when Dr. Linde and Dr. Gerrish were the new guys in town.
Jamie W. replied:
Dr. Josh Henderson is doing a great job filling his dad's shoes, he is one of the only doctors who does not make me feel like just a ignorant parent. He asks me my thoughts & even was willing for me to teach him a little about my son's diabetic insulin pump. Also Dr. Marciano, who also is always there for my son!
Judy H. replied:
Spirys Clinic next to the National Tea! They had the Mickey Mouse Charaters on the walls! Mrs Boscher worked there I think along with??
