I've used other lawyers that people have suggested for the same thing you're asking about and I have nothing good to say about them. I love Angela Caywood at Park Nelson Caywood Jones across the street from the court house. She is honest and actually refunded us money since she didn't need to use extra resources.. She will actually listen and fight for what you want. I spent over 30 min on the phone with her a couple months ago when I called to ask what the adoption process for my husband to adopt my daughter would be. She didn't rush me off the phone and explained everything clearly, never asked me to come in or tried to get money from me to start the process. Just answered my questions. She really goes above and beyond. 405 224 0386

Keisha Baggett since your father is mentally impaired you will most likely need to get guardianship as he has to be mentally sound in order for a POA to be legal. Unfortunately a guardianship needs to be done by an attorney unless you know the law. It isn't easy and it's time consuming and has to be signed by a judge. And whatever you do, DO NOT use a POA from staples or from online because these are usually pretty generic and may not be legal in the state of Oklahoma. It is best to get them from an attorney or at best a paralegal familiar with Oklahoma statutes regarding a POA. Also you must have witnesses and it must be notarized and you cannot be a witness.
