I'm a huge fan of Whities Car Care in Walnut Hills. They aren't the cheapest mechanic shop, but not matter the issue, big or small, they always do a GREAT job. Have never had to take a car back after a repair because something wasn't working right.

I mean they are still chains but Midas, and Firestone both do full care, going to a shop for things like you mentioned is going to add up quick though I think labor starts at 50 an hour

What area of town are you in?

Stricker's on the east side is the most honest mechanic I've ever used. My father in law is a mechanic 3 hours away and I've called him before after they've given me an estimate and he laughed at how low their prices were. Always great service too.

Gregory Auto is great. Family owned and dependable. It's east of Montgomery. I think they're technically in Loveland.

Ted Burgin auto service. Fantastic service and ALWAYS honest. It is the only place I will take my car.

[yousaveautorepair](http://www.yousaveautorepair.com) in Covington has always been fair to me. Little off-putting when you see the inside, but cars are in and out quite a bit. Quality work IMHO. EDIT: Formatting

http://konenspittstop.com/ is in Bellevue, KY, and it is a fantastic place. They will probably tell you if they can help just by a phone call. The owner, Robb Pitts, definitely has the knowledge when it comes to cars. Only place I will even considering taking any of my cars.

Does anyone know of a company that will come pickup a bunch of old tires or where a person can take them in the lake Cumberland area?
Debbie S. replied:
I would call the Army Corp of Engineer office in Somerset during the week and ask for Judy Dalton. They are the ones that dispose of the tires from the fall Friends of Lake Cumberland Clean up. She may be able to give you more information.
