Birthday long weekend getaway? Funny, I was online today looking at New Buffalo kayak put-ins. I see Stray Dog has reopened after the fire. Happy about that!

Drive up to exit 22 exit up the hill make a right at the stop light. About a half block/block down is the Grand Mere Inn. Great restraint and the owner Pete Racine graduated from Hinsdale Central. Many old Central pictures on the wall in the bar. View from up on the bluff looks all the way to the lake and the sunset views are spectacular!!! He graduated with Roudebush and Alan Koranda.
