Lauren, I highly recommend Mr. O. He does do obedience classes, but he also does a 1 day training crash course. It was worth every penny I spent! He trains law enforcement dogs and has also worked with dogs in movies. Maggie was 2 yrs old when I took h er. She came back and was a completely different dog. And she wasn't abused into performing as commanded either. We received a video of his training to refer to, and he spent 2 hours with us at the end of the day showing us what she learned and what to do at home to maintain her obedience. It was the easiest, best, and the most fast efficient way without spending countless hours going to obedience classes and trying to fight them at home using those techniques. He also takes them out into the community during their training day. At the end of the day session, he takes you and your dog back out to meet people and show you how you ask them to listen, stay etc especially when people are trying to get their attention. Call him and ask him when he will be out at Community Market in LB so you can watch and see how he trained that days dog. He is probably the most fast and convenient way from your mom.

I would recommend Mr. O in Lower Burrell. We had an experience with him first hand. Brooke's mom, Sue took her sheepdog there. She was a very sweet dog but she had issues, jumping, not coming when called, tugging on the leash, just not mannerly at all. Mr. O takes them for one full day and works with them along with his dog. He takes them in public also, you know you've probably seen him around. Some people do not like him but he was a real miracle worker with Maggie! He was supposed to be done around 6:00 but called Sue and said he had a few more hours to go with her. When we picked Maggie up at 10:00 she was exhausted and Mr. O looked like he went through hell! He said in all his years of training he had never come across a dog with so many personality issues. He said she was very gentle and she would have a fantastic dog. He went over simple commands with some of her issues so Sue could put them into action if need be. But honest to God Maggie never, never had to be corrected again. I don't know how he did it but she was the best dog Sue ever had. She never growled at the kids or snapped no matter how many kids rolled on top of her or pulled her or pushed her. Mr. O trained dogs in the military and said you don't need weeks or days of training. Maggie was proof. We never thought he would need only one day with her and we thought would have to reinforce constantly. But she was a very mild mannered dog when he was done with her. He just finds ways to bring it out I guess! I know it sounds unreal, but it really, really worked.
