No Gemma Hebdon, run in a park or on a trail. Save your joints and muscles and get yourself used to the surface you normally race on. Plus, training outdoors in nature is by far better than any urban landscape. Your times will be a few seconds more than if it were done on a track, but you're not working PBs your training for OCR.
Holy crap and a half that *was* tough! I thought I was gonna puke after the first three, so broke it down into 2 x 5. (First lot: http://www.strava.com/activities/201560377/laps Second lot: http://www.strava.com/activities/201560382/laps ) By the time I hit 400 m I was wheezing. So unpleasent! Had a nice 5 min lie down on the grass inbetween, then did a 5 km back home for my steak, rice and pea dinner (which was the only thing that kept me going!). Will try is again next week.
