Lisa F. replied:
Alan, try contacting Samh (Scottish association for mental health). They offer support services across Scotland and have an employability service to help and support people into work. They also employ staff who experience mental ill health. Head office is in Wilson street, Glasgow. Try website www.samh.org.uk also phone numbers on web.
Lisa F. replied:
I'm fairly sure there is some voluntary opportunities available just now at Samh, might be helpful initially for confidence building. Also, www.seeme.org are looking for volunteer mental health champions in Clydebank. Your personal experience of anxiety is invaluable. You'd be an asset and may just benefit too in becoming more work ready. Working on mental health is very rewarding

We teach not only self defence but the law regarding the use of force, improvised weapons etc. and other aspects of personal safety including date rape drugs, bogus taxis, etc. AND all our instructors are insured to teach self defence (not a martial art).
