I wouldn’t use Coral homes, nearly every thing in our house was wrong or damaged, from wrong size windows, damaged internal timber doors, replacing kitchen cupboards, 8 goes at fixing a leaking roof. And to top it off having to render the house because the mortar was a different colour from day to day and the brick work and bricks were no good. I warned 2 people I know about them but they went ahead, and regret it now. Stay clear

We're currently building a hone with Dixon homes. We selected them because we wanted 2 storeys to maximise the yard space for our dogs, and they were at least 70k cheaper than anyone else around Coffs. Having said that there have been issues - being a project builder all the workers are subbies, not direct employees of Dixon's. This has meant that our build has been REALLY slow (ie over 6 months and still not quite watertight), it's been really frustrating watching a couple of hopwood homes go up in corindi in way less time than ours is taking. We've also had some issues with a couple of things we'd negotiated or selected not making it into the final contract (none were dealbreakers, and partially our fault for not scrutinising the contract closely enough). Having said that though their inclusions were excellent, and their sales rep has been super helpful. If you're on a budget as we were then Dixon's may be an option, but my advice would be to do your homework particularly regarding appliances and insulation, and to read the contract (especially the specifications and colour selection) with a fine toothed comb. Yes Dixon's are slow, but even if our build takes 3-4 months longer than a truly local builder, the rent we're paying is nothing compared to the savings we're making by going with a big company that can trade in bulk and has an economy of scale

We built with Adenbrook homes. We have a beautiful home and they have a build time guarantee so you know when you house will be finished. The ladies that helped us design our home were fabulous and the build went smoothly and we have had no issues with our house. I Would fully recommend them.

Just remember to ask the right questions. What insulation do they put in the house? Sometimes none and how many other corners do they cut to get the cost down.
