Seamstress friends: I'm looking to buy a sewing machine, but don't know what to look for in one.... Any advice? I want to get to a point where I can make...

I got one for Christmas and decided to go for one with adjustable stitch length and width as well as full stretch stitch on all the stitch designs. It's really simple to use and my mum recommended getting one with all these extra functions so that when I get more competent it'll grow with me rather than needing to buy a more advanced one. We're making my first dress tomorrow, so exciting Xx http://franklinsgroup.com/fgl/?controller=product...
