I would go with a fee-only advisor. They aren't going to sell you products and they are legally obligated to put your interest ahead of theirs (pun!). I do my own planning so I can't recommend a specific person, but if it was me, I would start here [https://www.feeonlynetwork.com/vt-financial-planner/](https://www.feeonlynetwork.com/vt-financial-planner/). Contact a few people, tell them your situation and they should be able to at least point you in the right direction.

Be aware that anybody can call themselves a Financial Advisor or Planner. However a "Certified Financial Planner" must meet a number of educational, ethical, and experience requirements before they use that title. Here's where you can find a Certified Financial Planner in the area: [http://www.letsmakeaplan.org/why-choose-a-cfp-professional](http://www.letsmakeaplan.org/why-choose-a-cfp-professional) For my own finances, I used Catamount Financial Advisors for many years now and they're great. CFPs are part of their organization. Here's a link for them: [https://www.raymondjames.com/catamountfinancialadvisors/](https://www.raymondjames.com/catamountfinancialadvisors/) Hope this helps.
